    Table Rock and Other Great Treasure Valley Hikes

    Homes in South BoiseIdaho is a great state for going outdoors and staying active. Boise is the capital of Idaho and the cities surrounding it are all part of the Greater Treasure Valley. These cities and towns are all in the southwest region of Idaho which means there are a lot of places to go hiking and be out in nature. Table Rock is a trail in Boise that is very popular with the locals and it is a great hike for most ages. You can bring dogs if they are on a leash and it is just a great place to go in general for some exercise. At the top of the hike, there is a great view of the city. It is beautiful any time of day whether you are a morning bird and want to go and catch the sunrise or if you want to enjoy an afternoon hike on a nice and sunny day. No matter what time you go though, the view is breathtaking. Table Rock is easy to find because it is a well-maintained area with marked trails and plenty of people who have hiked it before to help you out

    Table Rock is very easy to access for those that are living in the Treasure Valley and you can even drive up to the top of it if you aren’t up for the vertical climb. With vehicle access though, it does mean that there are a lot of people that come to enjoy Table Rock and there will most likely never be a time that you are up there all alone. It is still a great place to go and get out of the house and enjoy some physical activity though.

    There are other hikes that you can enjoy in the Treasure Valley such as Camel’s Back which is also a highly public trail due to its accessibility. However, hiking isn’t the only thing that makes Camel’s Back popular, there are other things that you can do while there such as hammocking, picnicking, tennis, and even volleyball. There are places that you can barbeque in the grassy areas at the base of the hill as well. This is a great place to spend a quiet Saturday with friends and loved ones.

    In Idaho, you do not have to go very far to get outside and be active and that is one of the greatest things about this state. It is not difficult for you to go outside and find something fun to do. And, at most of these places, you can usually bring pets as long as they are on a leash. This way you and your furry friends can go out and get some quality exercise in together. Table Rock and Camel’s Back are the Treasure Valley’s most popular and frequently used trails but there are plenty more that range in difficulty and length for all ages to enjoy.

    There are also hikes that lead to hot springs in the Treasure Valley. These are fun because these hiking trails are usually a little more hidden and you can be alone in the wilderness with just your group of people. (Always be sure to travel in a group especially when hiking in an area that is not well populated though; accidents can happen.) These hikes are beautiful and you can go any time of the year if you have snowshoes or cross-country skis. The landscape is very serene and peaceful at any time of year because they are usually secluded. There are other trails in Idaho that offer many different activities. Remember, these trails are within an hour of the city and you can do all of the following: horseback riding, snowshoeing, dirt biking/mountain biking, and regular hiking. There are places that allow dogs without a leash and there are places that require dogs on a leash. There are places that have beautiful trees and mountain scenery and there are fields of flowers and tall grass that you can hike through. No matter what you are interested in or what you are looking for you are sure to find something that fits your needs right in the Treasure Valley area. It is so great to be in a place that has all the comforts of a city but also has such great access to the outdoors and all the entertainment that provides. It really is the best of both worlds in the Treasure Valley.

    Idaho is a really great place to enjoy the great outdoors and there is such a big focus on that kind of lifestyle for all the people that live in this state and the Treasure Valley is no different even though it is one of the more developed areas of the state. There are great trails all throughout the Treasure Valley region that are great places to get out of the city and outside. Hiking is a great way to relieve stress and get some physical activity in your day. If you have dogs it is also a great way to take them for walks and get them outside as well. The really great thing about all the trails that are in the Treasure Valley is the close proximity they have to the city, making them very accessible to you. You can even go down to the greenbelt and experience the nature that the river brings to the area in a matter of minutes if you are looking for something very quick and easy.

    If you love to hike, then you are going to love the Treasure Valley. It is the best of both worlds and is a great place to live for those looking to have the calming serenity of the wilderness right at their backdoor.
